Why do we have Google Translate on our website?
By having Google Translate on our website, we are signalling the fact that we want to reach out and communicate as widely as possible. Furthermore, although Google Translate is far from perfect, the more it is used the better it will get and the easier it will be to communicate across languages.
What is Google Translate?
Translations on the Goldthorn Primary School Website are performed by Google Translate. Google Translate is a free translation service that provides instant translations between different languages.
How Google Translate Works
When Google Translate generates a translation, it looks for patterns in hundreds of millions of documents to help decide on the best translation for you. By detecting patterns in documents that have already been translated by human translators, Google Translate can make intelligent guesses as to what an appropriate translation should be. This process of seeking patterns in large amounts of text is called "statistical machine translation". Since the translations are generated by machines, not all translation will be perfect. The more human-translated documents that Google Translate can analyse in a specific language, the better the translation quality will be. This is why translation accuracy will vary across languages.
Please note that not all text may be translated accurately or be translated at all. Goldthorn Primary School is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate translations. Goldthorn Primary School will not be held responsible for any damage or issues that may result from using Google Translate.
