Panteinion Hall Residential 2018

Year 6 will be enjoying a residential trip to Panteinion Hall between 27th and 29th June 2018.

See below for exciting updates during our visit.

After spending an enjoyable 2 nights it was time to say goodbye. We were well looked after during our time at Panteinion Hall and enjoyed ourselves.
We drove to King Arthur’s Labryinth at Corris where we embarked on some retail therapy and then ate lunch.
Then it was time for the main event… a trip down the slate mine!
They have created a wonderful way of telling the legend of Kind Arthur – and what a way to tell it!
We took a short boat journey, deep underground and then walked through tunnels carved out by men many years ago.
Different areas had different events of the legend. We even got soaked by rushing water ( only because our teachers told us to stand at the front!)

It was a great experience.
Then the journey home. We will remember our trip to Wales with fondness and a big thank you to all the staff who made our residential visit so enjoyable!

Hi
We slept very well – didn’t disturb our teachers at all!. Had a great breakfast with a massive selection.
We then set off for Dolgoch Falls. The journey took about 45 minutes but the scenery was stunning. We walked up through the forest, along the side of the river until we reached the first waterfall. It was breath-taking!
We then climbed a little higher up the mountain taking in the views.
After about an hour, it was time to make our descent so that we could catch the steam train.  Such a lovely journey in an old steam train which cut through the Welsh countryside.
When we arrived, Mrs Sanghera and Mrs Lloyd were waiting at the station for us.

We walked down to the beach and were met with a spectacular sight. Azure sky met with a deep blue sea with not a cloud in sight!

Wow!

At first, we just explored the beach and played with our friends. After a while we were given a scavenger hunt to complete….what a lot of stuff we had to find!

After that, there was a sandcastle creation competition – have a look at our end products.

Sadly, our time on the beach can to an end. We found a local ice-cream parlour and indulged in a little sweet treat.

All aboard the mini-buses and back to to Panteinion for yet another wonderful 3 course meal. Yum Yum!
Now, were are glamming ourselves up ( preening and pruning) in order to look our very best for the evening disco.
Phew!

After an enjoyable 3 course dinner we made our way down to the beach at Fairbourne. It was quite a walk but we were so excited to finally reach it.
We were set our challenge – each team was presented with a stone stacking challenge card and the winning team would be the group who built the tallest stack using only stones on the beach.
After some discussion, we set to it…

Table 5 won the challenge with a stack that reached Mrs Lloyd’s waist! Unbelievable!

As the sun went down we huddled for a group photo – hope you can identify us!

We trekked back home and then had a little roll down the garden while the staff sat on the bench and rested their weary legs!

An exhausting, yet exciting day…. Can’t wait until tomorrow!

Went to Aberystwyth beach and did some stone painting. Have a look at what we produced!

Only one more sleep until we leave for our residential visit! Excited, exhilarated and ecstatic -  we can’t wait for our adventure to start! Watch this space for regular updates…
