11.11.24 Remembrance Day
We learnt about what Remembrance day means and observed a two minute silence to remember all of the people that supported our country.
We took part in lots of learning opportunities and we learnt that the Poppy symbolises 'hope for a peaceful future.'
We WILL remember them always.
Year 1 have been learning about 'Mary Anning' . Mary Anning was an English fossil collector, dealer, and palaeontologist. She became known internationally for her discoveries in Jurassic marine fossil beds in the cliffs along the English Channel at Lyme Regis in the county of Dorset, Southwest England.
We created our own fossils using clay and used different media to try to replicate the Plesiosaur fossil she found in 1823.
Year 1
Year two have been learning about different historical figures including Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Josephine Baker. Sir Ranulph Fiennes (born March 7, 1944, Windsor, Berkshire, England) is a British adventurer, pioneering polar explorer and writer. Josephine Baker was a world renowned performer, World War II spy, and activist. We learnt about their lives and ordered them chronologically on a timeline.

We also explored the Kingdon of Benin, linking to Art and exploring what Art was like in Benin. We also enjoyed learning about The Stone Age, using clay to explore and replicate houses and villages. Our learning about the Ancient Greeks was brought to life by a visiting workshop!
Year 3
Year 4 have been learning about the History of Slavery in the world, we enjoyed creating posters about this. We have also learn about the 'Saxon King', Harold Godwinson who was the last Anglo-Saxon king of England. We explored life for the Mayans and used our report writing skills to share our knowledge!
