Spring Term 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a busy start to Spring term 2025! The children have already enjoyed many learning opportunities including Y2 Kingswood visits with parents, Year 1 walk around the local area, Year 3 Ancient Greek days and Y2 off to the Black Country Museum. All of this in the first three weeks of term, as well as new after school activity clubs resuming and Year 6 booster clubs - we aim to provide as range of learning opportunities for our children to have fun and deepen their learning.
Year 2 Kingswood Trip
Year 3 Ancient Greek Day
Next week marks Children’s Mental Health Week, which is a national event that exists to empower, equip and give a voice to all children and young people in the UK. We are delighted to be joining many schools across the country in celebrating this important week with different activities that support our wellbeing. This year, the theme is Know Yourself, Grow Yourself. It is so important that we understand what makes us tick, our likes and dislikes, strengths, fears, hopes and dreams. Our emotions play a key role in telling us just that, and being aware of how to listen to and express ourselves is a major part of building self-awareness.
To launch the week in style, we are inviting children to arrive in school on Monday 3rd February 2025 dressed in a way that expresses something about themselves.

This could mean wearing:
· your favourite colour
· something that shows your interests or hobbies
· an outfit that makes you feel happy!
We ask that a £1 donation be made. Goldthorn Park, and all other schools in Elston Hall Learning Trust, will be donating all money raised to the children’s mental health charity Place to Be, to support the excellent work they do to champion the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people across the UK.
Best wishes,
Mrs Purshouse

Special Educational Needs and Disability - SEND
There are several SEND workshops for parents that will be taking place at the hubs across the city. These sessions are really useful and help parents and families learn more about Autism and ADHD. It is an opportunity to share strategies and helpful hints
